The Muslim markets in Xian


We had a chance after our visit to the museum to spend a bit of time walking this neighborhood which had some fabulous displays of food and wares. these are paint brushes for sale - every size you could imagine. Below are cookies for sale and we got a couple to taste. The "sweets" in China are interesting because typically they aren't too sweet! The cookies below were a sesame and very delicious.

In almost all the cities we always saw nuts being roasted which is below. The little red dried fruit was either dates or maybe persimmons - we never really found out. The statue below was in the market and the kids enjoyed the climbing and running around.
