This building above was so unusual, just had to take a picture. The picture of the kids is at the Olympic Village. so this place is amazing. they spent billions on the bird's nest - and it does look like one - but it also looks like the birds are abandoning the home. The painting is peeling from the structure, there are sinks falling off the wall in the bathrooms (these bathrooms at the stadium were barely a 3) I just don't see how you can design, build these amazing properties and let them go without taking care of them. We couldn't walk down the the field because they were getting ready for some exhibition. We sat in the seats, took pictures and looked at some of the exhibitions from the Olympics. Everywhere you walk in China, like most cities are guys selling every type of chatcki that you can imagine. Fans and parasols are two big items and everyone was buying and carrying and using them. Hannah now has a best friend - She is a bit younger than Hannah about the same size - Ceilia. Celia and her mother (a single Mom) and her sister, who is Ben's age and also adopted from China are from Colorado. They are just having a blast together. All the girls have seemed to have found a group or another girl to hang with and it is really fun watching all the kids bond. Poor Ben - there are no other boys except a 15 year old who really is not connecting much with Ben - as one would expect - they are just too far apart in age when they are so young. But, Ben is happy a good percentage of the time. The biggest problem for Ben is he jut doesn't like about 85% of the food. He eats white rice, dumplings and some noodles. He eats no vegetables, no fish and almost no meat - so, he eats a huge breakfast each morning in the hotel (which always has American food as well as typical Chinese breakfast food which includes dumplings, soup (congee) and noodles as sauteed vegetables and fish, etc. We fill in with ice cream and whatever else we can find between meals for Ben. Hannah on the other hand is trying everything and enjoys almost 85% of all food she eats.

So, Hannah and Celia both scored pink parasols and have been posing with them and having a great time carrying them. AND, it keeps the sun off their heads!

Nice shot of the stadium!
